Peter Walker is the General Manager of Meldrum House Hotel. He started working in hotels at a very junior level and has worked his way up through the ranks.

Peter is responsible for the day to day operation of the property and keeping up standards of service.  He is responsible for approx 60 staff, across various departments; he believes that the training and development of his staff is of the up-most importance.

He is involved in the planning and decision making which is needed to successfully market the hotel and to make sure they are perceived well as a business, as well as dealing directly with some key market segments – i.e. the whisky industry. Supplier liaison is key to Peter – he supports his team in purchasing the best, freshest ingredients that they can source.

Peter also likes to work with the local schools, as well as Meldrum House's own Green Team on environmental topics.

During his years at Meldrum House – Peter has helped to deliver a £2.5M refurbishment and the turnover of the hotel has tripled in two years with wedding bookings up from 15 in 2009 to over 100 for this coming year.

The hotel has won many prestigious awards and they now have successfully achieved their green tourism award.
